I spent 5 hours waiting for a Kingfisher yesterday...4 and a half on my own....he did not show but despite loads of colourful Dragons chasing around only this drab one landed. On a closer view it was not that drab either and I managed to I.D. it as a 4 spot Chaser.
It is a classic (boring)image of one though.

Don't find it boring at all and since I have started trying out macro/closeup I can really appreciate the standard of your work. I have always admired it but now, I am in awe.

Thanks Maggie...too kind.....I have not been all that impressed with my long lens overall but it seemed to perform well here...and at the long end as well.
