This was taken in the whisky museum in Edinburgh Scotland many moons ago on mine and Kaths Honeymoon.
I really like the sot and the lovely golden light from the whisky.
I hope you do to!

For our younger members - Whisky In The Jar was a thin lizzy song which you can read about here.

Theres a nice warm glow alright. May have been an idea to get down directly in front of the bottles and shoot straight on rather than down, so to exclude the lighted shelf.

The song also predates Thin Lizzy by many years, - they did a modern, for the time, version of an old folk song. Their version is the one most people are aware of for sure.

regards

Willie

I agree with banehawi that a lower viewpoint would have been better, but my reasons are different. This would make a much more satisfying pattern without the diverging verticals, which I don't think can be adequately corrected in post-processing, since the perspective then looks wrong. I have not done a mod because the corrections I have tried were unsatisfactory. I realise that this is not very constructive, but all I can suggest is that you go back if you can and try again.

And yes, the colour of the light is just wonderful.

Thanks for the input guys, it's nice to get and if I get a similar opportunity with other museum type bottles etc then this will be most useful.
Thanks too for the info on the song!

Cheers for taking the time to try a mod, no worries - I might have some similar shots that are better!
Thanks again!
Richard

Interesting image. Colour works well here, warm and inviting. Can see the point about lower viewpoint, but you could actually also crop the bright bottom off this, giving a more balance lighting.

It's not much of a crop but you are right just helps the picture look that that makes it look better - thanks for the tip.
Cheers to all for your great input.
