After going for a walk in some fluffy white stuff on Friday, I came inside and took photos of something else that's white and fluffy Grin

These are homemade marshmallows Grin They're really tasty (even if I do say so myself) and quite easy to make! I saw them being made on TV and looked up an english version of the recipe (original used corn syrup and I don't think I can get that here?).

As I keep saying, I've been trying to improve my food photography so I went out and got two nice looking plates to use for photos. (I say 'nice looking', the other one is plain white! Lol!) I set up a little area beside my kitchen window for some nice soft lighting and cut out a swirly shape from paper to make a pretty pattern in the icing sugar for interest.

I took lots of photos, ranging from three marshmallows on a clean plate to this little group with the dusted sugar. This is my favourite out of the lot. Smile

V2 shows the little 'studio' area I set up for the photos.

(If anyone is interested in the recipe, I used Alton Brown's version on the Food Network website - although I didn't have quite enough golden syrup, they turned out really nicely Grin I would recommend using silicone tins though! Or if you can't, dust your pan really well especially at the edges! It's a bit sticky to turn out!)

I love the bright red plate - a lovely backdrop for the white marshmallows (they really are tasty, nicer then the shop bought ones!). Smile

I'm not keen on marshmallows, Rachel, would rather have one of your delicious cakes, but I like the images Grin Carol
