Background digitally removed & replaced with black.

Excellent editing and a good choice to replace the cluttered background. If you were shooting at home, it would be easier to use a piece of black card as the background but this looks like it was shot in a garden centre, where that's not really an option. ![]()
The shot is about two-thirds of a stop under-exposed, which has left much of the white actually darker than the grey bands at the side of the page. (They look brighter but that's an optical illusion caused by them being surrounded by black, while the band's next to white.) A levels adjustment with the top point set at 220 makes a big difference.
