In near total darkness I took this final image of St Michael's Mount last August. The long exposure smoothed the sea out nicely but I'm not really sure about this one. Ideally I would have been further left enabling me to have an unobscured view of The Mount but it was too dark to move around safely and those fg shells were just begging for attention.

Lovely image of the Mount, the tones throughout and the forground detail are excellent. Another great image, Alun.

The depth and clarity are A1 Alun. the long exposure has done a lovely job on the sky and water. I understand what you are saying about being further left but honestly I think it works well as it is.
Derek
Thanks for the feedback. Very much appreciated.
Richard - that has been bothering me too, so you're probably right.
Ronnie - too right! The thought of dunking my photo gear in salt water always makes me err on the side of caution!
Derek - thanks m8, but it still troubles me ![]()
Alun
simply wonderful - I'd give you an extra prize for NO cars or tourists.
I like the way you put important detail in the foreground! much more important than the island itself
The fg is the star here, and the little cluster of shells on the stone. Claritt and that wonderful natral coour are very special indeed, the mount is a supporting player in this image. Beautiful use of the long exposure.
