Good morning Billy,
Out and about with that new lens eh
.
I think this must be classed as a record shot, I'm sure someone will tell me if I'm using the wrong phrase
. As Frank has said this is a Coracle which have a history dating back thousands of years. They were originally covered with animal skins and still are in some countries.
I undersatand why you have left room to the right but in this instance I think it would work better in portriat. So a slight twist to your left would have captured it this way. On your D90 you have options for the flash, don't think it a full flash or nothing, just a small amount of fill-in flash may have helped to bring out the detail in the thatched ceiling, something to try sometime.
To show how a portrait image may have looked in the mod I have added some canvas to the left and cropped some off the right. Then to lighten the image slightly go into your blend modes, you know, the one where "Overlay, Soft Light, Hard light etc" and select "Screen" you can then reduce the opacity if it's to bright.
Billy you know where I am.
Take care
Martin
