This wild orchid was photographed at the edge of a very dark forest and I decided to remove any trace of it by manipulating the b/g.

My thanks to all for the comments on Running Dry.

Ronnie.

Sometimes natural backgrounds are distracting, this works well on a black background Ronnie, really making the orchid stand out. It is such a pretty colour, ours here tend towards the deeper purple.

award well deserved Ronnie for this fine capture. You had achived good background seperation in V2 but the magic of the black background shows this fine beauty at its best its no wonder so many of us like the dark b/g.
Thanks for your PM yes keep well clear of Harrods.....we had 1 inch of rain overnight here in the north side of the river now 360 degree greyness

Two very beautiful images and what a gorgeous wild Orchid in both. I think I am drawn just a little more to V2 with that lovely green shading in the bg but 'd settle happily for either.

What a beautiful wild orchid Ronnie, these are a familiar sight on the hills and limestone grassland of the Coswolds close to where I live. Glad to see that you have inspired our friend Gary D to get back out with the camera again, he hasn't been himself latelySmile
