Good evening folks,
One from a few day's ago today.
Not had been out this week due to work, perhaps tomorrow will provide me
with the opportunity.
I have labelled this image as willow but it could be marsh, unless you get the
two side by side it is difficult to distinguish them.
Many thanks for all the C&C's on my Nuthatch series, I'm hoping
for better conditions next time out.
Colin

That's lovely. It is the Willow Tit, as it has stronger body colour than the Marsh.

Not sure that body colour is a defining feature. I'm thinking Marsh due to the pale spot on the beak.

Have to say Marshy I am afraidWink

Flat tail end, clean bib and no definitive barring on the wings

Think dinner suit as opposed to tramps jacketTongue

Lovely clarity, detail and pose, Colin, but I am sure that it is a Marsh.
A short while ago Graham (Graham_P) mentioned that he had read that a feature distinguishing the Marsh from the Willow was that the Marsh had a pale flashing of colour at the base of the beak on the upper mandible and this feature seems to show very clearly on your image.
