Another upload of the elderly female chimp at Chester Zoo.

She was sat alone, seemingly lost in her own thoughts and it struck me as to how melancholy she looked as though remembering her own youth as she watched the youngsters around her charging up and down the ropes playing and occasionally jumping on the older members of the troupe.

V1 is the original RAW shot,V2 is obviously a mono conversion. I thought I'd upload the colour version first as my monos don't seem to grab the attention that maybe they should. I'd be interested to hear your views on which version you think is the better of the two Wink

Many thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

Jane.

P.S. LARGE & F11 is a little bit more soulful !!!

Must be viewed large (V1), full of character and looks that have solved the mystery's of time, enjoyed viewing V2 also, the mono conversion works well.

First of al , this is an excellent capture, i think the colour stands out more yet i am drawn to look at the mono more, i think the mono adds to the age of her and image, so V2 has it for me, crystal clear and pin sharp. Stunning.

Going to Chester Zoo tomorrow on a Camera Club outing - I wonder if we'll see her? A stunning portrait of this lady, Jane...think it works well in mono, but I prefer the closer crop of the colour V1 Smile

A bit more contrast would bring more life into the mono jane, but they are both superb.
