good morning
many thanks for votes and comments on yesterday upload.

I can't decide between the two versions (V1 is just a crop of V2).

have a nice day

Excellent shot, I prefer the crop of v1. Love the colour. David

Natural selective colour, something that I love. I definitely favour the crop in V1. Much as I love portrait format I think this is one where I'd have gone for landscape and then cropped to square.

The full frame is more picture-book or postcard, though I like the deliberate trio of flower baskets. I prefer the concentrated detail of V1; a slight skew on the right would realign the drain pipe to vertical and perhaps remove the minor distractions of the white window edge and the end of the bench to help concentrated the eye further.

Bill

thank you Bill for pointing out the imperfections. I was concentrated too much on the central part that I've negleted the peripheral part.
I'm quite sure the drain pipe was not straight, otherwise the lens distorsion would have bent the pipe in the other direction, but it is something not obvious when looking at the picture and it is a bit distracting, I agree with you.
Moira and Barbara, I see what you mean, but in this case it doesn't make any difference because the width is the maximum possible. the only solution would be to go back in NL, where the picture was taken, and shot it again, standing a step back.
thanks to all of you for taking the time to comment.

Two excellent still life image renderings with selective color, Francesco. I would have to agree with the majority, that I like the "cropped version,"...a little bit more than the full frame. Nice clarity, depth, & effect of the selective colors of the red flowers & drapes. Ciao...Pietro
