This image is not so much about the Red Grouse(Lagopus lagopus) but more about its moorland habitat. This is a near full frame capture with just a little cropped away from the RHS and base and the bird is at a distance of 31.6m. I just loved the colours and abstract qualities and textures of the winter moorland vegetation. The image was taken at Lochindorb, near Grant Town on Spey, Cairngorms National Park in the Scottish Highlands.
