On an icy cold windy day, snow melt from the Cairngorms tumbles to the Bridge of Brown a couple of miles downstream. Thought this was the last of the snow at this level hence the title but now all week it's been snowing again! I explored the gulley the stream enters at the Bridge, it's pretty cool, a metre-wide 3 metre deep winding vertical chasm that goes for about 30 metres in distance. Not that I entered it but there is a way down to a nice looking pool for swimming half way along. I may re-visit that... in the summer!

The dark swirling water in the foreground balances the cloud 'swirls' beautifully, Al, sandwiching the lighter tones in the middle. Lovely depth from the lead in as well. Not sure i'd want to be anywhere near this place in summer in swimming costume (or less Blush)... unless I fancied being a midge meal Tongue

Ha ha, Dave! It could be quite midgie in the summer but that's the thing that drives you into the water coz they can't swim! Grin

A forbidding moody looking day - steel blue sky contrasted with lovely warm tones of the rocks in the water.

You manage drama in the middle of nowhere Al, a fine composition with little to work with.

Thanks Dougie, it was a glen I hadn't been up before and I wondered from the map if I'd get a view of the Cairngorm range but nope! I think I'd have to walk as far as Dorback for that view. Smile
