A second image i captured this winter, The image was slightly cropped to bring the main subject onto a third, a touch of editing was done which was mainly on the sky which i boosted the saturation up a touch to enhance the colours the show was adjusted using a adjustment layer. It is still a touch grey but pushing it up any more didn't look right and seem to off balance the sky and foreground. S i left it with this compromise. Finally a dose of unsharp mask.

A lovely silhouetted tree and beautiful sky colour. I would have a taken a few shots of a wider view. Maybe cropped off the bottom and concentrated on a tree more in the distance.....Lots of possiblilties.........Sandy

I've just tweaked the colours in the sky slightly using "autotone" then adjusted the colour and texture of the snow using levels and the shadows/highlights tool.
I've cropped it (obviously!) and given it a touch of USM.
In fact, I think I've oversharpened it.
I don't think it's any better but it is an alternative.

Hope it's OK.

Bren.

Edit. All done in CS5.

Crop off the twiggy hedge in the bottom, then just lift the contrast and sharpness a touch - you have a strong simple image that works well.
