I took myself down to the coast earier this week, hoping to find some critters, and was very pleassantly surprised to see not one, but four different coloured shield bugs.
Amazing creatures amazingly captured. Four terrific images and am torn between 1 and 4.... Will have to come back to decide
I sincerely hope you do not expect of me to choose a Miss Shieldbug 2012. They are all beautiful whether dotted or plain Excellent photos Carol !
I love shield bugs nearly as much as clangers, a great set of very photogenic critters.
Excellent macro work Carol hope they have some out in tennerife for me to capture.
stunning detail and colours Carol. Love no. 1. Ruth.
Great colours in the sunshine, we could do with some of the current bun here in blighty.
Wet, Wet, Wet is the forecast.
such a pretty bunch of critters
Such fine symmetric colour detail in these bugs, almost like they have been hand painted. Great close up and thanks for sharing as it’s great to see different wildlife as not seen before. Cannot choose my favourite as all 4 are stunning. Bob
belting set carol wonderful colour and detail v3 my favourite today a cracker nice one
Excellent macro, stunning colours. V1 for me
Another super set of images Carol, V1 my favourite,
V1 has really gone the bright and cheerful route, love this shield bug set.
What a variation in colouring, Carol, but the character at V 1 is particularly varied.
Certainly better than Green Shield Stamps Carole.
A very pretty array indeed.
Excellent set as always Carol!
They'd have to learn to swim here. Bright and sunny captures, Carol... moi, jealous...
Lovely set Carol.................. V3 is my fave today
A truly excellent set
Four different critters!
My goodness you must have some special radar.
All great images but V3 appeals to me today with those iridescent greens.
All are wining pics.
Excellent Carol and V3 takes it for me.
Great shots of these pretty Shield Bugs,
They're so photogenic and enjoying their moment in the camera's lens (well I think so...)! Love v3 for the composition and all those greens.
Lovely set, Carol, all like little jewels.

Carol what a super collection again, great colours, super detail, very well done Jeff
What a lovely winter collection we have here.
Superb set Carol with fine detail, alas no bugs here for me to capture it's so wet.
no3 for me great detail and green on green shine.
Some beautiful macro in your pf.
There is an endless variety of these shield bugs in nature. We had a small invasion of them right before I big freeze this year. We had so many come into the house that I had decided to photograph one of them against some oak tree bark. They were of mottled shades of grey - amazing camouflage capabilities. But then, the big freeze hit, and I haven't seen any since. Maybe a good thing.
Wishing you and yours a very Happy Christmas Carol.
Wonderful set of shield bugs, Carol.
What interesting creatures, Carol -- especially V1.
V3 without a doubt
Methinks we had identical weather to your's today
At least the winds did not materialise, so we had a full days craneage going on
Beautifully detailed Carol. Version 1 looks as if his back is made of stamped leather and then coloured . Wonderful foursome xx
Simply Superb Series.
I liked the above reference to Miss Shield Bug of 2012!
V3 is my favourite, Carol, nice and sharp and beautifully composed.
A great set of bugs
V3 for me too Carol.
Four fantastic close ups Carol with your hallmark of quality stamped all over them. The weather has been atrocious here, thankfully it is meant to be better tomorrow, so I'll be off to the rough council estate on the outskirts of town to photograph the huge flocks of waxwings that are feeeding on the berries there. It's a pity the Big O can't be there as he'd scare the local scallies and chavs away!
Another four fabulous shots of your seemingly inexhaustible supply of bugs Carol, don't know whether to envy you, or pity you for what seems like an infestation
Cracking set Carol. All the best for Christmas. Paul
Nice set as always Carol. have a great Christmas, and a happy new year, regards Leon, had no internet yesterday.
Great close up work
