This is my contribution to the 'Wire We Here' upload by the Magnificent Seven, Gajewski, Annette38, Irishkate, SimonFletch, Chiliman, LynneJoyce and myself

I have four images to upload but the site doesn't work properly on my iPad. I will add the other three this evening.

Thanks for looking and please come back later to see the full set of four.

A special thanks to Lynne for crediting my throwaway remark and making it fly.

A very nautical take on the theme. Looking forward to seeing your other contributions.

I shall return, to see the others in your set, Garrath.
But I have no hesitation in Voting now.
That's the finest image in our collective contribution, so far.
But I have one complaint... I cannot see a single 'wire'...
... the cables in your image all being termed 'Stays', Garrath Wink
Says an ex-sailor, whose eye for a sailing craft is undimmed, despite advancing geriatric years..!
But I bet there's plenty of 'wires' hanging out of those buildings in the background..!
Anyway, to a landlubber, 'stays' are 'wires', so your image is more than well-endowed Grin

Very nice, Garrath. I look forward to seeing the rest of your series.
My thanks to you for sparking this whole project with your astute comments (as explained by Lynne on her page).

I'm having a blast looking at all the contribution of our little rag tag group and it was fun combing through my own archives to find my contribution.
It is interesting to me to see how the individual personalities and photo styles of each of us shows through -- such different approaches to a common theme.

Guilty as charged! The rationalisation is that not all wires are conductors and 'stays' are made by braiding or twisting steel strands in much the same most multi-core electrical wires. And further, these outdoor electric wires are braided or bound in a steel wire casing to give them hanging strength.

Does that pass the BS test Simon!? Wink

Damn! Why didn't you clone me out of V4?

Love 2 & 3, how did I miss those shots?

Love the spider bridges in v3, they are very much like French or portuguese festive wire ornaments. The posh version is certainly something we all never thought of.

I'd like to award you with a plaque, for the best bit of BS I've heard in a long time, Garrath...!!
Furthermore, I know where I'd like to hang it. In the wheelhouse of that fine looking ship in V4.
Seemingly, you are married to the owner, photographed while admiring her prize possession..?
If you don't know your wires, from your stays, I'd guess you'll both be needing a Captain?
I'm Your Man... Grin
On a BS scale of 1 - 10, how does that rate..?!

Simon
PS: Great pair of 'wired up' images in V2 & V3, but as Mick says 'sod them', it's the Ship that steals the show..!
