Photographed from the main pier in the Kyle of Lochalsh on the west coast of the Scottish Highlands, the picture is of work vessels moored at the pier that belongs to BUTEC.
This stands for the British Underwater Training and Evaluation Centre. It is where many of the new torpedos and other similar equipment is created, developed and tested. There is a large Submarine range in the Inner Sound just north of here.
