We admired the Japanese culture when we visited and I'm sure this stoic attitude has helped them no end after all that nature has thrown at them. This scene depicts the deeply symbolic presence
that religion plays in their society. We will return we hope.

A wonderful capture of happier times Ron. And 'There But For Fortune'
John.
Somewhere I'd really love to go, There or China.
I love the smoke, it adds an atmosphere you can almost cut with a knife.
The smoke adds s o much here Ron, I can only agree with yours thoughts on Japan and it's future, I'm sure that given time and some help from the rest of the world that Japan will be back on her feet before too long. Theys seem to be able to recover from whatever's thrown at them.

An extraordinarily symbolic shot to me Ron. That shaft of light giving the feeling of hope as the crowds of people go about their worship. Our thoughts are with them as they go through this terribly difficult time.
See you Monday evening.
Barbara
poignant shot, smiles and great light, sad to think what followed, but I can't help feeling they have the strength to overcome the terrible problems they face at the moment.
