This yellow scabious was shot in the gardens beneath Culzean Castle on midsummer's day......this was the first time I'd seem a yellow variety.
It was quite windy so I had to achieve a fast shutter speed.

Details: ISO 640, 1/1250 sec. at f/10.0, hand held (had to stand on a bench and reach up as the blooms were about 8ft. from the ground).......viewing LARGE is I believe worth while.

Many thanks to all who commented on and voted for "Bejewelled".....as always I am most appreciative.

Ronnie.

Hi Ronnie - this is beautiful! I love the yellow scabious - I think they are actually the original variety of all scabious - it took me ages to hunt down some for my garden - eventually got some in Hampton Court Flower Show a few years back...this photo really does this beautiful flower justice, and the DOF is lovely...

Sounds dangerous here Ronnie.Standing on benches and reaching up.We are not getting any younger you know !!
Good bit of light to bring out the detail. And get yourself to B and Q for a pair of step ladders. They do a dinky little set for 19.99.And remember your penny change. The till girl took ages to find it,in the hope I would go away.Nae Chance !!

gorgeous flower shot, the wind an be a real nuisance taking macro pics. I was lucky with my recent attempts I just waited for the wind to drop and pressed the shutter in between gusts

Going to buck the trend and say it's spoilt by the distracting flowers in the b/g...plain black does it for me,and the detail /clarity are immense.
