My first ever sighting of these beautiful big black birds..I couldn't get close as they were very aware of my presence...One let out a blood curdling scream, then they all took off as one.. Great..

I have included a small variety of other birds...Noisy Mynah, Rainbow Lorikeet, House Sparrow..

The Yellow-Tailed Black-Cockatoo is one of six species of Black-Cockatoo in Australia. In recent years it has been in rapid decline because of native habitat clearance, with a loss of food supply and nest sites. - See more at: http://australianmuseum.net.au/Yellow-tailed-Black-Cockatoo#sthash.RAuzefIg.dpuf
Communication
The contact call is a drawn-out, distinctive "kee-ow". They may screech if alarmed. Yup...that's the one !!!!

Thank you to all for the response to my last upload, White Cheeked Honeyeater..and special thanks to KurtSkeels and accipiter for their brilliant mods

Super collection of images, Lynette & I can see why you lead with V1, very dramatic.
Can also imagine the Screech - bird that size!

Never even knew these existed.

But of all the shots, the Sparrow wins for me.

Wow - lucky you seeing the black cockatoos - not many of those around, I've only ever seen one or two. Great set of shots and have to agree that the sparrow wins for me too - what a little cutie!
