Here is what I did on Friday the 16th of November during my 18ºC lunch-break PLEASE Check all 3 pictures
-You look merry, mate..
well there are FREE drinks at the old mirabelle tree
2 -good to have 6 legs to stand on
3- should have taken more water with it
the morning frost makes the mirabelles drop on a container.. but it also makes them ferment Plum dropping weather so the local hornets came all in for a drink!!
many thanks to you all who commented and voted on the icicles and their shadow
And 3 cheers to Walter for the UA
lovely detail on all three
So funny! Good reportage! Wonder if they could fly after that!
(Good shadows as well...) IB
Great story telling Annette!
Guess this is what everybody else is doing tonight or watching
the new series of The Killing!
How apt that you should post this
I accidentally killed a female one this morning
Crushed her to death, while I was investigating a pile of mossy logs
She was do dormant, but so beautiful to look at
A great story-telling series, Annette.
Lovely set of images Annette. Bet their heads were sore the next day
That's a great story--- and some very sharp wasp images!
Great set of images ,Annette-like all of them, very well taken...........
Nice storyline here, Annette, and if that's fermented juices they're getting then it might explain the apparent collapse of the left hand wasp in V 3.
Great macro work and the detail is excellent.
A most enjoyable set.
Hic! That whas good ... I love v3 talk about legless. A brilliant set Annette ... Carol
Tremendous detail in these ones annette.
Well coloured too.
Excellent set Annette - even without the 'conversation ' you provided. The surface on which it all took place gives it a studio produced feel. Excellent photos - especially V2 for me. Thanx again for your kind award to me yesterday
Great pictures but they want to make me reach for the RAID, can't stand wasps and hornets!
An interesting set of impressive wildlife images.
Excellent - know how they feel!!!
Chuckling at this hour of the morning doesn't happen with me very often, but thank you. You really hit the mark with these! Wonderful reporting and 3 great images to boot!
Your title certainly caught my attention, Annette! Even though I haven't even had breakfast yet!
V2 is a great close-up.
Oh yes...and please stop boasting about 18c lunch-breaks we're on 1.8c
The container makes an excellent background. Lovely colour and clarity but I'm not surprised you're shooting at 200mm. I want some of that ethanol flash as well
Great capture Annette you just keep them little nasties over there I'm very allergic to there stings.
A brilliant set
V3 is hilarious, the one on the left looks stoned out of its mind.
Love the Exif...
How sweet! I hope they had a good time, but I bet their heads are banging this morning.
Lovely detailed images.
18C lunch break grrrrrr love all three Annette great detail and love the texture
Bet they have got sore heads by now Annette.
A great story Annette - probably best to keep out of their way if they're a bit woozy! Excellent detail and clarity on all three!
Nice one, Annette, great description as well, luv the detail and colours.
Quite happy with the three thank you Annette, I have a couple of shots of a European Hornet that paid us a visit!, He was nearly 4 cm long with red and yellow stripes, people fuss about them but generally they are less of a problem than wasps who are a nuisance!, never kill one as when dying they give off a hormone this will alert the rest of the nest to attack! worth remembering lol. three good shots, regards Leon.
Excellent work here Annette, wonderful detail.
Nasty little blighter's if you get stung, but very docile to handle if you know what you're doing, much prefer a hornet than a wasp to work with, wasps are unpredictable, hornet's give you plenty of warning......Good images Annette.
Great set Annette. The union meeting (V1) my favourite. Don
A tremendous set of macros Annette, I found v3 most amusing. The hornet in that one is doing a very good impression of the Big O after his day spent in the ciderhouses of Gloucester on Friday!
The one on the left in V3 looks plastered!!! Three fine macro shots.
such great captures and ...so funny indeed, love your narrative
love the rusty surface!
