Many thanks to csurry/Cheryl for her GEA on my last image and to Fatherpie & TrevBatWCC for their UA's too!
Todays image is from the Military Odyssey yesterday, a fantastic event! This little 'un stole the show for me
Thanks as always for your time, your thoughts/comments are very welcome.
Regards - Sarah J x
Superb and delightful candid portrait Sarah. Wonderful expression, detail and fabric textures. Love the soft, rich, warm light and the dof.
What an adorable child.
I do find it a bit chilling that a child is playing war games, though.
The innocence of that face should never see war.
Love the expression and good details and tones you have captured Sarah.
Excellent portrait shot, Sarah.
ahhhh bless ,what a super portrait ,great expression and wonderful eyes
sweet or what lesley
What a wonderful portrait, Sarah - and such a wonderful expression on his face, too.
Wonderful shot - lovely expression captured, well taken Sarah !
Great smile Sarah....love that tit for
A really well handled portrait Sarah, and a feather in YOUR cap too.
Good evening and thanks very much everyone
Beautiful eyes, love the feather, excellent portrait, but I tend to agree with Joline.
Just to say that I also agree with Joline and Pamela about children never having to witness war! There were battles re-enacted at this event but none of the children took part in these. I do think however that living history events are important, especially to the younger generation, a great way for them to learn about the mistakes our forefathers made so that may never be repeated! I also learnt so much yesterday - especially at the WWII Village/exhibition, authentic in every detail and the participants so passionate about passing on their knowledge, thank you - a superb event that I can't wait to return to next year!
Sounds like you had a great day Sarah and this is a lovely portrait, well taken and processed to your usual (very) high standard.
What a great portrait, a superb image...Jack
Just lovely Sarah
What a cracking shot. His eyes are fantastic and he looks as if he is having a super time. On a technical note – if he is a Confederate, why is he wearing a Union (blue) hat? The jacket looks perhaps more blue than grey too.
Thank you very much for your time and kind comments, appreciated!
Chris - quite happy to be corrected, thank you
What portraits are about is expressions and you have caught it well
Very very good Sarah
Mike and Nick, thank you for your kind words
Thank you Sylvia for your User Award, I really appreciate that very much - has made my day
Lovely work...you have me singing that David Bowie song now LOL.
Great expression, terrific photo!
Tom, Phil and David - thank you
