Happy New Year everyone
Apologies for not being around.. busy setting up my business and covering lots of shooting days
Here's Lola a youngster learning the ropes... I purposely composed the shot with the gun barrel
Thanks for looking and for all your support, always appreciated
This is a smashing shot! Normally I would have considered removing the barrel from the backroud but here I think it has a good relationship within the composition and gives a good reference to the nature of work the dog does.
A superb composition, Jon, love the inclusion of the barrel of the gun, very well thought out and captured. Good luck with the new business. Carol
Absolutely cracking shot especially good to include the barrel - gives a perspective on the shot. Lola looks a beauty! Louise
personally I dont really like the barrel it spoils a superb picture for me, good to see you posting tho
Great looking dog Jon.
Beautifully detailed portrait Jon - wonderful expression and super coat textures. Like Andy, my initial reaction was to remove the gun barrel , but in retrospect I agree with his comment.
Hope the new venture is a brilliant success - I am sure it will be
Lovely image, you've captured the charachter of a springer so well.
the inclusion of the barrel is inspirational as it adds to the working setting. good to see a muddy working day still looking adorable. excellent.lesley
Nice one Jon, Happy new year
Bon Jovi fan to Jon. Love the juxtposition, appropiate. Happy New Year. Ron.
Perfect title. The dogs alert expression and the gun held to the side. All at the ready to their job. Love it.............Sandy
Great inclusion of the barrels Jon works well set behind a superb Spaniel

I agree, the portrait of the dog would work equally as well without the gun
Splendid capture of the dog
Hi Jon great shot gray.
Good luck to you ,yes the gun makes it work, great looking young dog.
An excellent shot and really has the wow factor for me. The detail captured here is incredible, I love the splashes of mud on the dogs fur and the muddy collar, and I think the barrel is a clever addition as it completes the story.
Cracking detail especially in the eyes of this youngster - lovely shot - Ina
Wonderful quality Jon, the barrel simply does not work for me mate.
Working Cockers are lovely...I've got a lemon one...Daisy.
