Rather Large

conradI hate the weather in autumn, but we do see some wonderful-looking things around us, don't we. I know it all turns into a dirty mess in the end, but all those coloured leaves are great - for a while. And don't you just love all the mushrooms everywhere?! Shooting those mushrooms with a camera mi...

D'oh

conradI took another walk in the woods today - there was more light than last time, and I thought taking both my camera and my dog out might be a good combination. :-) And indeed, the light through the trees and on the autumn leaves was great, there were plenty mushrooms around, lots of things to shoot...

bfgstewIf you go down to the woods today................... Managed an hour in some local woods hunting for fungi - see main gallery photo's - and i liked the greens, browns and general Autumnal feel in the woods, taken with my 50mm set at f1.8.

Autumn Girl

conradAshley and I went for a stroll in the woods, as we often do when I can make my lunch hour long enough - she's not so quick anymore, she's behaving more and more like an elderly dog, and at ten years old I suppose that's not surprising. Having (had?) cancer, having arthrosis, etc., doesn't help eithe...

Photo365 - 302 - dreamscape

PeteI was taking photos of berries earlier this morning backlit against the morning sun using an old Pentax M series 80-200mm zoom on the K20D, and noticed the background tree shape, and decided to switch attention to the tree. Adjusting focus so it's out but still recognisable is an interesting techniq...

bfgstewAnother year gone by. I took a shot last year from this location (River Idle running through Retford Town) with my big camera, but as I was walking past today I decided to see what it looked like a year on and through different eyes, the eyes of the 'little orange box camera'. I like the way this ...

bfgstewDeath is all around us! Yes it is time for the trees to shed their leaves and ready themselves for next year, animals and plants are doing the same, even some of us are getting ready for the onslaught of winter!!! But it does sadden me when clearing stuff up, death stares you in the face! I didw...

bfgstewAutumn is here and the colours are really beggining to show on the trees and floors. This was taken using the pin hole camera app on my phone, more to follow as I like the retro feel of the framing, kinda groovy baby....................:P

bfgstewA breeze up my back passage............................:P It happens every year, and I don't do anything about it. The wind really does whisle up it and the inevitable happens! Leaves, loads of them, all stuck up in my back passage, and they are a bugger to clear. But before I started to clear...

Photo365 - 274 - rusty conkers

PeteConkers in case on my rusty metal background. A polariser was used to remove some of the glare from the naturally polished surfaces

cathalMornings have that extra chill that catches your breath as you step outside. The dew that bit heavier as it lingers in the half light. The trees disrobe of their tapestry of colour, falling gently to the floor like a robe to reveal their stark splendour. The kingdom of darkness extends it sphere, as...
