Closed.

Dave_HendersonOut and about this morning with the 5D and my favourite lens, a Sigma 12-24mm. Whilst composing this shot the guy appeared from nowhere. The shutter speed was .5 sec. A pity it was so slow, a 20th of a second may have been better.

Slow Shutter App

conradI've had the Slow Shutter app for iPhone for a while now, and tried it out in different situations. I was never very happy with the results. But last Saturday I decided to give it a try under completely different circumstances: at a dance, to blur the dancers a bit, maybe even get a more or less...

PeteI bought a Micro 4/3rd to T2 adaptor to use on my Olympus E-P2 the other day. I was messing around with different lenses and added a El Nikkor 50mm f/4 enlarging lens on the front. I just held it in place and it provided a very close focus. Infinity was way out of focus. I could move it forwards to ...

Photo365 - 38 - Headspin

PeteSome days my head does feel like it's spinning, but not today, so I made it spin! I'd always intended doing some spinography - where you set the camera on self timer and throw it into the air spinning as it falls down the shutter fires and you get a revolving shot. My first attempts today were a...

Sharpness Overrated?

conradA discussion on the forum* and an article in Naturfoto** made me think about the need to have your photographic subject pin sharp. Is that really necessary? I'm beginning to think it isn't. You might think it is, because in the gallery you may usually expect an immediate reaction from members wh...
