AliceLuisePhotographyPicture time! I havent really had time to evaluate my work because of being at the shop in my time off college, so im planning to evaluate them tomorrow. However i did spend a good hour an a half in the darkroom yesterday printing some prints. I also appear to have a random dog which must of cree...

AliceLuisePhotographyJust about to go out and take my second set of photographs, some are going to be digital and others film. Its a bit dizzily, so not sure how i am going to work out certain shots outside as everything is wet. Decided to take my cello once again, probably the cornet and flute with my for the outdoor o...

Size Matters

conradWell, to some it does. Of course, I can think of plenty people who don't think size matters, I can think of plenty of situations in which bigger isn't better. But sometimes you just can't get around it - size can impress. And at the Royal Armouries in Portsmouth they certainly do think bigger is ...

Warrior

conradI've shot the H.M.S. Warrior before with a mobile phone (for some reason I never seem to have my camera with me when I see it), but have to say that the iPhone image beats the Nokia image hands down - both before and after processing. This is the iPhoneography result (taken with an iPhone 4s and ...

Photography in the landscape

PeteIt was interesting to see photography being used in the landscape. The photo was about a meter and half or so wide mounted on metal posts on a Lincolnshire cycle path. It was a photo of the scene behind. And because it was far away from the villages it hadn't been vandalised, which was refreshing. ...

Sculptures

conradSculptures don't always blend in well with their environment, but these sculptures seem to be in exactly the right place, are appropriate for their surroundings, and are even in the right colour. A perfect match, I'd say.

Unusual

conradI've done something very, very unusual today. Well, that is to say, it's highly unusual for me. I know other people do it. But I normally don't. I think that in five years or so I've only done it twice. Or possibly three times. Which isn't very often, is it. Not in view of my many uploads. I dele...

ShakeItPhoto

conradI was looking at different photo apps and came across ShakeItPhoto. To be honest, I don't know why it bought it, but at the same it seemed like a good idea. Okay, only 1.59 euros, and I think it was probably the special offer of a temporary price of 99 eurocents that did it, but still - it's really ...

No Photo Blog

conradYesterday on my way back from a location in the southwestern part of the Netherlands, I had been hoping to take some photos of locations that I don't often get to see. But of course the sky went grey soon after I got in the car, and eventually it started to rain, at some point quite heavily. And ...

You've Got Mail

conradI just can't resist an interesting-sounding photography app for my iPhone, and especially not when it's free. And even more when it's normally a paid app, and temporarily free! And the Dutch iPhone Club keeps me well informed, so I regularly come across new ones. (I'm now having to create a third pa...

H.M.S. Warrior 'Painting'

conradStill thinking about giving images a more painterly feel, I suddenly realised that for this purpose I could probably make very good use of images that I previously considered unusable due to low quality, or other problems. One image that I immediately thought of, was one that I'd taken in January...

Painterly Ashley

conradStill on the dog theme, but going in a different processing direction. I've been looking at the possibility of giving images a painterly feel. This is just an experiment - the image isn't ideal, due to (among other problems) the burnt out whites on the head. But it gives me a good idea what's pos...

So Much Nicer

conradI love colour, I really do. But I'm also crazy about mono infrared shots. And ever since I bought an old G2 converted for infrared, I've become convinced that IR makes what would have been a simple shot so much nicer. Take the photo below, for instance. Take a little after noon, which I normally ...

iPhone Microscope

conradWhen I read that there are microscopes you could buy to attach to your iPhone, my interest was piqued. I suspected it might be an expensive gimmick, but I then saw one on eBay for a little over a tenner, and since I had some PayPal credit left over after spending part of the proceeds of the sale of ...

Spring Is In The Air

conradOr at least snowdrops and crocuses seem to think it is! In front of the windmill near me there's a lawn with a lot of crocuses, and a few snowdrops, and it's beginning to look really good. It may be a bit early to enjoy really nice spring weather, but the sun did come out a few times today, so...
