Breda

conradI used to go to the historic Dutch city of Breda often, but things have changed and I seldom have to go there anymore. Recently a work assignment brought me to the area, though, and when I went into the city centre to find a bite to eat, I was struck again by the beauty of this church. I only ha...

Art Deco

conradSome years ago, I took photos in and around an old, abandoned art deco building in the Netherlands - Radio Kootwijk. It used to be a radio station for international phone communications, but of course at some point it was redundant, and vacated. It stands in an area that reminds me a lot of some...

Museum Find

conradI came across this rather nice Ammonite in a museum. Quite liked it.

Rock, Sea and Sky

conradGoing through my iPhone film roll, I found a few pleasant shots from a visit to Swanage. This is one of them. Post-processed with the Snapseed app. (I may actually have gone a bit over the top with the processing, but it was only to have a bit of a play.)

Bleak Day Iphoneography

conradIt's hard to imagine now, with the blazing sunshine outside, but we did have quite a few bleak days during the winter, didn't we. On one of those days I passed this location and just had to stop and take a quick snap with my ever-ready iPhone. And what do you do with a snap from a bleak day? You ...

iPhoneography Sunset

conradWhat do you do when you've lost track of time and the sunset arrives quicker than you thought, and there's no time to pick up your camera? Well, besides simply enjoying the colour spectacle enfolding before your eyes, you can't, of course, ignore the possibility of having a go at capturing a mome...

Art Deco

conradArt Deco buildings are quite rare nowadays, and since I like the style, I'm always happy to see it when people are taking good care of a nice specimen. This is the Tuschinski film theatre in Amsterdam, which was restored to its original Art Deco state a few years ago, much to my delight. What yo...

Landmarks & Details

conradJust a collection of a few Amsterdam landmarks and details in one photo. Taken with my iPhone, processed with Snapseed.

Three Versions

conradSome time ago I took a quick grab shot with my iPhone of a windmill I passed in a part of my country that I don't often visit. I had a play with the image in a few apps, and I thought I'd show you how very different some of the results were. Below you will see, respectively, a Snapseed version a...

Out and about with my iPhone

conradOn holiday I went out on an overcast and rainy day. I didn't think I would be very much inclined to take a lot of photos, so I didn't take my camera. But of course, as will always happen with a photography enthusiast, there will come a moment that you regret not taking your camera. And that mome...

Centre Focus

conradAn iPhone shot on an overcast day - in picturesque surroundings, but not with the light or the sky that you would wish for. So, what to do? A play with the image in a few apps - Snapseed, among others, and the Tilt Shift app. And this is the result:

Not Aftershave

conradI rather like my aftershave, but it does come in a rather masculine-looking bottle, nothing elegant. Now take perfumes - since they're for women, the manufacturers go all out to come up with some good-looking bottles, one being even more elegant and graceful tha another. J'Adore is one of them...

Warrior

conradI've shot the H.M.S. Warrior before with a mobile phone (for some reason I never seem to have my camera with me when I see it), but have to say that the iPhone image beats the Nokia image hands down - both before and after processing. This is the iPhoneography result (taken with an iPhone 4s and ...

Vintage Pulpit Rock

conradEven when I'm taking photos with a 'proper' camera, I nowadays often can't resist taking pictures with my iPhone as well and having a play with them. And this is one of the results. Not exactly Gallery material, but there's still something about it that I like.

Delta Works

conradOne of the aspects of my country that I'm quite proud of, is the way we've made a part of the earth inhatibable that many wouldn't have regarded as being usable for human beings at all. After all, two thirds of the country is below sea level. What it takes to make and keep an area like that inhab...
