Barry Beckham's exposure tutorial.

Thanks Barry, this was really interesting and nice and easy to follow. I will make more use of bracketing in the future.

found this usefull and informative , If i could ask a question , rather than bracketing at the time of the shoot could i not just open from raw an under exposed image and another over exposed image from the same raw file..

just discovered these. Very good tutorial will use to improve my photography,

thank you NEIL.

Not getting much response here.....
dancin.... the whole point of combining the exposures is that one single capture didn't get all the information - once the sky was blown, it's gone.... there's nothing underneath the big white area. So he's using the images where less highlights are blown (ideally it would an exposure where nothing was lost at all).

The other odd thing was that Barry explained near the beginning that he'd be opening the images from ACR as 16-bit images..... yet when they actually got into Photoshop they were 8-bit images. (Even Photoshop has problems doing everything in 16-bit so it made no sense to go to that in the first place).
