Chatsworth House And Gardens
Set in the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District Chatsworth House and gardens offers everything for the Photographer.

The house alone and its treasures offer an overwhelming source of material for both the professional and amateur photographer alike.
Chatsworth is 8 miles north of Matlock, off the B6012. It is 16 miles from junction 29 of the M1, signposted via Chesterfield, and it is 42 miles from junction 19 of the M6. The railway station at Chesterfield is 30 minutes away, by taxi.

The 105 acre graden is attractive in all seasons, as well as the maze, rose, cottage and kitchen gardens there are five miles of walks with rare trees, shrubs, fountains and ponds.

I dont want to make this write-up sound like an advert for Chatsworth but more what there is to offer for the Photographer, so the rest of this is in my own words and my own views. If you like photographing architecture then there isnt much better than this house, treasures in the house and the internal structure is mind blowing.

Like photographing gardens then here we have 5 miles of walks offering opportunities for creative photography as well as just snaps of the kids enjoying themselves.

Theres much more than a days photography here and if you feel inclined you can even stay a few days in a lodge on the grounds, if interested then check out their site at http://www.chatsworth-house.co.uk/.

Our day at Chatsworth wasnt planned as a photography trip though as always the cameras were at hand, we packed a hamper and after viewing the house and gardens had a picnic in beautiful summer sunshine down by the river (the one in the photo). Remember to take a little extra food for the ducks.

I must admit I didnt make the best of my day there having my sight seeing head on instead of the Photographers, next time knowing the photography opportunities I will approach the day differently.
