Knapps Loch is a small loch located just as you enter Kilmacolm from the Bridge Of Weir side.
It was man made about 100 years ago for the local fishing club and is located in an ideal place with small hills surrounding it.
To the west is a clear view allowing good sunset shots. Its also got a good variety of trees a few nice place islands and a fantastic variety of bird life.
Parking is good and its a local spot for walkers. You will see other photographers quite often and it is very camera friendly.
I would advise a good wide lens for this place. Good boots for mud though its not a hard place to walk at all.
If you like wildlife then a good long lens will help as you will get a lot of bird life to keep you happy snapping.
From the car park its only a min or two to the loch. You can walk a full circle round it, which will take about 30 mins or more if you take your time. There is a good viewpoint on a hill at the far side of the loch which is worth taking a detour to visit.
