'The Golden City' - Prague is a photographer's paradise. You can have a great time in Prague, just wandering about and admiring the architecture. Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Art Nouveau, Cubist - there are superb examples of all periods. Within the city you will find more than six hundred years of history, virtually untouched by natural disasters or by war.
Maybe you prefer 'people watching'? Find an open air cafe and watch the world go by, whilst enjoying a glass of cold Czech Beer.
Prague is a great destination at any time of the year. In Spring and Autumn the crowds are not so dense - and the light is often better for photography. The weather, too, is usually pretty good. In summer it is hot, sometimes very hot, and tourists are everywhere. You have to be patient in order to get the photograph that you want. Winter can be cold, dark and damp, but having said that, Prague in the twilight under a white blanket of snow is truly a magical place! Or you can spend time visiting the Christmas markets, lots of photo opportunities, and plenty of ideas for presents to take home as well!
Prague is very easily accessible from the UK - not just from major airports, but also from many of the smaller ones as well, and nearly all the budget airlines fly to Prague several times a week.
