Working exclusively in traditional black & white. Equipment: Mamiya 7 medium-format camera gear, Gitzo tripods and Ilford Photo film paper and chemicals for everything and I do all my own darkroom printing.

I worked for Ilford Photo for 21 years until 2002 and ran the photographic printing department. I am an Ilford Master Printer.

My fine art silver gelatin photographs are available through my web site, galleries and at art fairs and home and interior shows across the UK.

I have written 3 books, Lake Light - The Lake District Photography of Dave Butcher, 2010, Peak Light - the Peak District Photography of Dave Butcher, 2007, and High Light - the Landscape Photography of Dave Butcher, 2005. My work is also also used in magazines, books, advertising and PR.

I run courses in black and white landscape photography in the UK in places like the Lake District and Peak District National Parks and black and white darkroom printing workshops.

My images are licensed for use on products on sale worldwide.
For example, it is currently sold around the world as fine art posters by International Graphics Walmsley GmbH.
