United KingdomI have always had a very keen interest in the outdoors and nature in particular and I love nothing more than walking in our beautiful countryside and spotting and watching wildlife.
My early childhood days were spent mostly outside chasing butterflies from which I developed an interest in breeding them. I now have a passion for conservation and belong to the Butterfly Conservation and the RSPB. Also I breed british butterflies regularly (helps with photography subjects!).
My photography developed from this interest and through my images I very much hope that I can share some of my enthusiasm and passion for our wildlife. Specialising in wildlife photography with an emphasis on butterflies but I will take photos of anything - I have recently started taking landscapes and seem to have found new subjects in pets.
Butterflies will always be one of my prime passions - maybe through photography their current plight can be brought to the general public.
I started with a Canon 400D (after being interested in photography when I was much younger) 5 years ago and have moved from that to a 50D, 7D and latterly a 1D MKIII and 1D MKIV. However the kit is only part of the story and the photographers eye and vision (and skill!) is more important.
