RAW Workflow with Photoshop Elements 3
You have recieved some good advise here, but I would also add that in Elements you cannot choose color space that will be used before convesion so make sure Elements is set to the color space you want the convesion to be in..you may already know this but thought I would point it out :)

Curves adjustment advice, please?
John, Thanks for the link. However it is a collect from store item and no store within 50 miles has it according to the web site :-( I guess you can lower your prices very low if you have none to sell!!! cheers Al.

Photoshop help.
The key to getting to grips with photo editing using Photoshop Elements or Photoshop is to keep things as simple as possible. If you get things right at the picture-taking stage, most images will require alterations to contrast and a bit of sharpening and not much else. An awful lot of courses try to get into the more nitty gritty tweaking of images. You need to walk before you can run. S...

CS2 v Elements
I could understand that if I'd just bought it off a bloke on ebay, but I bought it from www.mymemory.co.uk which is a proper seller (?). They are in Jersey I think. They talks all funny loike in Jersey they do's. So maybe that's why they can get away with it. On the other hand they don't appear to be selling it anymore. Maybe it was just a couple of CD's they found down the back of someb...

Photoshop frustration
Paul, I have just installed and successfully run the sample "hello world" action as detailed in the hidden elements tutorial in Elements 4. I would assume that if this still works then other actions should still run. cheers Al.

What can CS do that Elements can't?
If you fancy scrapbooking or album making, PSE5 is 'much' easier to use than CS2/3. Creations and Artwork may seem gimmicky, but its great for making layout composites. CS well, gives you nothing, and its much harder adding things like bound frames and edges.

Quick Q: Curves in Elements.
If you are having trouble in getting the 'serious workers's tools' in Elements and along with Curves and Levels I would also insist on having adjustment layers. Adjustment layers are a way of making adjustments to a photo without touching the original. You can have a number of them over a photo to combine different effects or else to try different variationbs of the same effect and then sim...

Challange Takui - Photoshop problems solved
Indeed, I also did that research, now the thing is, of course, to translate that into an image, but Im not very good at mathematics. :) Thats also the thing about writing tutorials, to keep it simple enough, to achieve a desired result. After that, the posible tweaks and creative posibilities are endless. Maybe you could try with the technique used in "The Aviator", its meant to give you the ...

Hi - I totally agree with Sus regarding the public library - I have spent quite a fortune on books and am always at the library but never ever thought to look in the computer section!!! I did for the first time last week and was amazed! I think there is a lot to be gained if you can get some one to one tuition with somebody dealing with the specific things you want to learn - however I did a co...
