USE FILM again !! My boy was GIVEN an Olympus OM2n with 50mm f1.8 and 70-150mm Zuiko lenses and gets very good results -- no 'SOFTWARE' problems at all -- I develop his B&W and most of his C41 or take it to a High Street Pharmacy which has an account with SIGFOTO laboratory who do an excellent job of processing and printing C41.

I tried the pencil eraser thing and the lens started to work well; though, when I change it and put it back again the problem continues as long as I turn my eos on, then it works as expected!!! Think I got it for a cleaning and general revision. But thank you again for caring and your fast answer!!! I got the battery issue in mind too...

Sounds like the Opteka 500mmF8 lens. I was soundly abused and scoffed at for buying one ( cost about £85) Good fun on a sunny day, but that's all. You won't get high quality images from it.

I found it!!! There's a nipple near the base of the flash that gets stuck. When it's stuck it doesn't know the flash popped up. Hence, take a fine pic to lift that nipple. Fixed!

The max flash shutter speed (which will be in your camera manual) is the max speed that will safely work with a dedicated hotshoe flashgun. I found an interesting website through searching in Google whereby you can go into a file in the RawShooter program and change any reference of "350D" to "400D" and the program will function with that camera instead (but probably ignore any pictures taken with the 350D!) I have the battery grip for mine, it is great because I can easily get two days of busy shooting without worrying about batteries. Also I have the holder for 6 AA batteries - an extra bonus.
