Thanks Ewan. Adobe's 30% discount offer is about £165 so this is a good price. Steve

Web Sharpening

I'm curious about that too. So I just did a quick test and did not get the result I was expecting at all! I sent the same file from raw converter to Photoshop twice. First time with raw sharpening on 0, second time on 8. Comparing them side-by-side in Photoshop the sharpened photo looked sharper as you'd expect. I then resized (bicubic sharper best for reduction) both of them in Phot...

V5 Gallery Upgrade

I had a problem last week when I got a message that there were more than ten tags and would it not continue to upload. It therefore appears that nine more tags can be added in addition to the main one.

Bloody hell. We were doing 2 to 3 weddings per month. 4 rolls 0f 120 (12 per roll for 6x7), And they say we Scots are mean. I only manage 10 6x7 images on a roll of 120. Tell me how you squeeze in another two! :) :) Mamiya RZ67 10 per roll of 120. Mamiya 645 15 per roll of 120. Sorry had a senior moment, been to check some negs and as you rightly said 10 per roll and as the wife j...

Yes after reading a few times I understand and thats what I want...get the basics like WB and Exposure sorted on a screen then over to P/S to do my normal clumsy messing about. Guy Gowan would tell you that this is exactly how he does it (ok with Aperture or ACR instead of Lightroom and perhaps not the clumsy messing about!) Having said that, Lightroom does have a lot going for it too. O...

Trying to simplyfy things: if at all possible use a quality tripod with a strong head. Always use cable release set camera to mirror up or mirror delay mode if it has it. A lot will depend on the lens but most are at the optimum at F5.6 to F8. If you do landscapes learn about hyperfocal distance but very crudely focus 1/3 way into the scene. Always use Raw, apply both capture sharpening ...

OK. Open the program, click on folder view button. Down the left hand side should be a windows navigator like window, just navigate up and down to the folder where your RAW images are. Open that folder and it should draw lots of thumbnail images on the right. Click the tools button and the tools menu should turn up .Double click any thumbnail you want to edit and it opens bigger to make it ...

PixelGenius Photokit Sharpener... One of the best plugins you'll ever use. I was introduced to this plug-in fairly recently, and would happily recommend it. Produces excellent results.

Lightroom 2.1 Release Candidate is now available. It appears from a quick ten minutes that the responsiveness of the sliders, graduated tool and the localized corrections brush is much faster / improved.

Thanks guys i think i am there!!! got rid of the EXIF data and opened my different exposures open in cs2... finally!!! Must say my first attempts are absolutely *****!!! Not as easy as it looks on the olde tutorial pages. Definitely thinking this is something that'll take a little bit of practice... Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for all the comments thus far.
