using dslr for video
I agree, the VR2000 was excellent and I wish I'd kept it! At the time though, video libraries mainly went VHS which was a major factor in its success. I have always hated the clunkiness of VHS mechanics!

Taking portraits at home
Thanks :) No I didn't, the room is entirely white, including the floor so maybe that helped, but I just stood her in front of the window but at the back of the room so the light was softer and that was it.

Anti-light tent project in home studio
its amazing how many model need to hold on to you when they try and move in the madder versions of heels. I've never understood how any woman (or man, for that matter) can walk in heels over a couple of inches high. Another way to protect lens fungus
Ah, the humble condom - who would have though the tied-off sheeps intestine of the ancient Egypt would have come so far. On army survival courses the uses range from keeping the barrel of your gun protected (as with the artillery mentioned earlier), a water carrier (though it must make the water taste funny - I wonder if they supply the strawbertry flavoured ones) and a bouancy aid if you need ...

My blogs are more of a diary, if I see something that catches my eye, I take a pic of it. I mainly take shots for my blog with my android as it easier to have with me at all times. If I have been doing a photographic DIY project I add that into my blog as well. I will add gallery quality shots to my blog if I feel it worthy and if I find a new technique to share or show.

I remember Vic well. I always went to his column first in Amateur Photographer. He was straight and to the point and he was an inspiration to me. Ken ps, I remember somebody asking him that if they placed their polarising lens from their sunglasses over their lens would it work? His reply was, "Try it!"
