Fuji Film S5 vs Nikon D200
"The S5 or S3 for that matter does not interpolate, it has 12 million pixels, they are just different types of pixels S and R, you do not get a 12m pixel image, but there again it's not a 6m pixel image either when extended DR is used, by all scientific accounts at lpi, it provides the equivalent to 8.6m pixels." I've never seen an accurate test, and nor have I heard how many microlenses the...

The wonders of technology
Baz, seems like a breakdown in communication. Fuji should be reporting any crashes back to me. I've just had a similar situation in the US - when I was over there at Fuji last week, I got bawled out because they had this problem that was causing lost business at a certain major chain (where they put about 1.5 million prints a week through it). I just got informed of the problem and they were bl...

The new Fuji S3. Would you buy?
Re the last paragraph, the good news is that reliability should worry you less, as the probability of failure reduces with operating life. i.e if it survives past the first few hours of operation it probably will last for a long time. This is different from mechanical parts which typically have wear out mechanisms. After this initial period then the probability of failure is probably independen...

Semi-pro dSLR Canon, Fuji or Nikon?
I use a Coolpix 5000 along with auxilary lenses and it's fine. I've used it on client shoots and all's been well. I do tend to use RAW output though. TIFF's are A OK too but jpegs even in fine mode I find are too compressed, fine though for everyday shooting in non-pro situations. Ed B

Fuji to exit digital SLR market?
Yes but have you seen the price of the 500D! not what I'd call entry level Yes, unfortunately its as a consequence of the weekness of the pound - the only models that are at a realistic level are those approaching the end of their life cycle, where suppliers have excess stock or where enough units are manufactured to absorb some of the increase - I fear any new model launched in the UK in th...

Malfunctioning Fuji S602 - can anyone help?!
Gotcha Toymaker Geriatry strikes me again! What I was discussing earlier was returning cams for repairs whilst still under warranty then somehow we merged into extended warranties which I presume will be offered to me soon also! Kylie suffers from the "tall poppy syndrome" which is pretty rampant here ,maybe thats why she wiggles "it" mostly in the UK these days! ...

Fuji 602Zoom
Hello All, Up until this week I have been using the Fuji 6900, yesterday I finally received my S602 which is the upgrade of the 6900, I have taken a number of Pictures with it and I am well impressed with it so far, the S602 has a much fast shutter speed than the 6900 and though it weighs much heavier it is so much better to hold and much cheaper than the 6900... When I purchased my 6900 it was...

Right, more questions. Well only 1 because I can't remember the 2nd one now I am trying to write it! This is an easy one - am I right in thinking that as xD cards are proprietary technology jointly developed by Fuji and Olympus, the cards are interchangeable? It is OK to use an Olympus card in a Fuji and vice-versa? Thanks, as always
