Here's photographer Mark Humpage's account of his trip to capture the Northern Lights.

At least one person could benefit from this year's snow misery, as Mark Humpage explains.

Olympus E3 LCD Frame Failures
I've had mine for a while now, it's absolutely fine no problems at all, even in the rain many times ( the E3's are water resistant) I'd totally recommend one. Paul

E3 V SONY 700 V D300
Why do you keep going on about the reviewed LCD, without live view the high res screen is purely cosmetic from what i can see I was just using it as an example of a misleading statement. I'm not sure I'd agree about it being "purely cosmetic" but there's no point in going down that route. It was just an example to illustrate a point. I probably should have picked on a different example as I ...

What do people have against EVF...?
And the minus points, of video tearing and auto gain problems and time delay and sensor heating, the items that lead to problems as you move to action photography etc John have you tried EVF`s in low light for action/sports photography, for me its become a huge plus, not a negative.

Going for the E3
Well had the E-3 what a couple of weeks now, enjoying it Struggled with the one touch WB have to google to find out I needed to program the function button first lol Bit cheesed I have the FL-36 and not FL-36R as i would have loved to use the wireless option with that. Few little apparent teething problems but I think more user error, getting used to where everything is etc. My older M...

What camera for £2,500?
I've been using a 1D 3 for 18 months now and it's performed very well indeed in a whole range of places from Salford rugby league ground to the Antarctic. I've seen no evidence of a focusing problem on my camera, it hasn't been back to Canon for any repair, it just worked 'out of the box'.

Which Camera to buy?
The Olympus E3 will do the job, add the new 50-200 and its even better. Use an E3 myself, don`t own the new 50-200 though I`ve had a play and its fast. All my older lenses including the 40-150 seem to focus quicker on the E3. The E3 viewfinder is a lot bigger, larger than the 40D and a little smaller than the D300`s. The bodies weather sealed and the in body IS that works a dream. Also the ...

New E3, this is no mock-up
Ah... read that yesterday. very interesting. it's not a full review yet though. I'm almost hoping the panasonic and olympus will turn out to be rather disappointing cameras quality-wise and swivelscreen-wise. If not, I wouldn't know what to do... have the 5D, as far as I know it will be a superior camera in more or less all fields, but the other ones will have that one thing I desperately lon...

Claiming the world's fastest autofocus speed, along with 1/8000sec shutter speed, 5fps and a 10mp sensor, Olympus' latest digital SLR could put the company well and truly back in the professional arena. Peter Bargh, spends a day with the camera to check out these, and an array of other demanding features, in a first look preview.

In a sector of the market that's becoming more crowded than a west end pub, Olympus introduce yet another model to its Four Thirds system. Peter Bargh drinks in the atmosphere and checks out the latest talent to see if it's a luxurious cocktail or a pint of watered down ale.

Gary Wolstenholme tests the Olympus Zuiko Digital ED 50-200mm lens which features a relatively bright maximum aperture and also has a silent SWD focusing motor.

The Olmpus OM Four Thirds adapter allows Olympus OM users to attach their manual focus lenses onto an Olympus digital SLR body. Peter Bargh sees if his prize 50mm works with the new E3.

Tripods are an integral part of photography, but good quality doesn't have to cost the earth. Here we test three all under £150.

After a long gap between the D100 and the D200, Nikon surprised a few folk with the announcement in August ‘07 of the D300. Now, less than two years after Ian Andrews tested its predecessor, he brings us his verdict on the D300

Walking around taking photos with a fancy camera is one thing. But then to go home and print your pictures on a dot matrix printer is plain silly. Matt Grayson takes a look at a decent replacement for his.

Selecting the right tripod can be a minefield. So we've got three here for around £200 to see which offers the best value for money in construction, features and ease-of-use.

Being the market leader in the fastest growing sector of the photographic market is a tough title to hold on to, especially with most major camera manufacturers announcing new entry-level products this year. Can Canon's latest entry-level offering, the EOS 400D, retain this position in the face of such fierce competition? In this review Gary Wolstenholme takes a look whether if anyone can, Canon can.
