I used film for donkey's years but haven't bought a roll for 8 years now. I wouldn't dream of usig film now, for anything which actually matters and is unrepeatable - e.g. a wedding. But I wouldn't rule out using it just for fun and nostalgia - much the way one might a classic car. :)

What is a Photoagrapher?
Well it's impossible to sum up a person in a few words. We're all lots of things but there's usually only a very short time to describe yourself to someone - if you had to. I think there was a thread quite a while ago asking people how they'd describe themselves.

Mood of the Nation
Those questions looked loaded for a specific purpose, or outcome. Yes, I agree. I came out as a pessimist but, I would think that any "realist" would be classed as pessimistic too in this survey. Pessimism can't be linked to unhappiness as most of us try to make the very most of what we have got.

Maybe the seller has been caught out by a prospect who demanded a discount from the agreed price. This happened to me but I refused to play ball and the prospect departed empty-handed. He had a wasted drive of something over an hour. That's just normal for buying and selling, you don't have to come down or go up in price and you don't have to haggle if you don't want to. Personally ...

Whether that is accurate depends on the newspaper standard I was referring to national newspapers which I know best but, as you say, the same standards broadly apply to local papers. JPG is the world standard for editorial submission now and anyone who supplied anything else would be out of the frame. For publications to accept RAW files would be like a company car trasnport manager who l...

Motorsport photography
The Jim Clark is good but can be hard work. As it is on public roads, that are closed for the event, getting to spectator spots can be difficult. Also high hedges get in the way. To start with I suggest you obtain the official programme (about £5) and go to the designated spots. I live 20 minutes drive away and have been for the past four years. In the 1980s I covered the home interntaion...

I have been on two here in Norway - one in summer and even better, the winter one.....reeeally good. Great idea thanks, but I am looking for new things to experience. Malc
