I live in Mid Devon and the bag I used depends on what I'm shooting, but where possible I prefer to travel light. Today its a Toploader with 1d4, 70-200 and 580ex & stofen, spare batteries, cards and lens cloth, with a 24-70 in an attached lens case. With a second bag vertex 300 with backup kit & laptop nearby.

Take a look at something like a Velbon Sherpa 600R Tripod which is a good starter model, for a basic DSLR & Laptop bag, this crumpler might suit.
