Fatwoul: hey, I never said I liked him-I think he's ridiculously overexposed (the man not the photos) but he is wacky! Also, if I was just starting out, I'd want to include this eccentric Magnum photographer in my viewing..

Will there ever be any more 'Old Masters'?
On the subject of the relationship with old masters this month's OP has an interesting review of McCurry's latest book which draws paralells with his use of colour and earlier generation's use of tone which I think is valid. There is a generation of fine art an journalistic photographers whose use of colour will be seen to be seminal, in art photography terms, in 20 years time including McCurry...

Totally agree Barry (believe it or not) A friend of mine just traded a 1D Mk2 in for a 20D as she couldnt lug the 1D around all day. Similarly she shoots with Sigma lenses because the L ones are just too heavy for her. Horses for courses and still produces cracking shots ;-)

Renault and Ford have joined forces to create the perfect small car for women. Combining the Renault 'Clio' and the Ford 'Taurus' they have designed the 'Clitaurus'. It is available in any colour you like so long as it is pink, and the average male car thief won't be able to find it - let alone turn it on - even if someone tells him where it is and gives him an instruction manual. What I admire about good photographers is their ability to visualise and then create/capture that visualisation. Snap shooting gets you some of the way but visualisation is that extra step to 'greatness?' :-) That there are no ripples in the puddle suggests to me that it was just one person?

ROFLMAO That was irony correct ? Absolutley ,theres no such thing as reality as each person sees color diffrently compared to how a sensor or film records it:)

I think that one of the things we should remember is that we all have a different frame of reference that is in part created by our own physical experiences. Whan a photograph 'works' it does so by eliciting an emotional response from the viewer that is filtered through that frame of reference. It may mean nothing to other viewers, because their reference is different.

The right to Protest
I can't say we disagree at all really .. it is partly our duty and partly business. If we turned our backs completely on any business that behaved improperly we could change things to some degree but we dont. Your last line is what I was itching to say as I got to the end of your post ... human nature .. dress any party how you wish .. they all change when in power.
