I always understood the 'problem' with the 5DII and similar was that the sensor was capable of resolving so much detail it showed up the flaws in older/cheaper lenses? I switched last year to full frame and my plan was to buy decent, fast, third party lenses. The reviews of the standard zoom equivalents all reported deficiencies. It isn't that I wouldn't be able to use them, or that quality ...

olympus pen E-p3
And you in turn have made unsubstantiated assertions that the EP3 system is inherently better (by unsubstantiated I mean reference to articles that support it). Call it quits, eh? Crikey, this is a prickly forum. The fact that the mirror-less cameras determine focus at the sensor is "inherently better" because that's where the final image is being recorded - pretty uncontroversial...

Death of the DSLR
But, there's always the window to look through as a re-assuring backup. As a passenger I wouldn't like the idea of 'no window backup'. But we are losing 'focus' again and the post is becoming 'coloured' again !! Then, maybe that's reasons to have an OVF ?

Feral riots really annoy me.
Something I suggested many years ago in a letter to our newspaper; we should have rehabilitation centres for government beaurocrats, elected members who have been there for long periods, and any other government employees who demonstrate a break with reality; just to give them a bit of a jar to remind them who is paying their salaries, and keep them reasonably sane.

Good macro
I have just had a play with my camera with my SB-600 attached and was taking some nice sharp images, getting flash and shutter synched was easy, well for me anyway, as a complete flash novice. Now the next thing is getting a ring flash. I have seen those Marumi things knocking around for just over the 100 quid mark but the opening is fairly small for the 150 Sigma so need to find one that accom...

Older lenses on digital bodies
I bought one of the books Paul linked to for Pentax, and I found it was helpful, in that it had a section on the use of old lenses.

Hey sorry guys!!! I've worked out what the problem was, as I said the film was definitely in the right way but thanks for the help anyway! Turns out the small setting on the front of the old Sekor C lenses is for the dual cable release mode when using mirror lock. If the switch is turned to the orange 'M' then the shutter will not release unless the dual cable is inserted (which it wasn't)....

The Mirrorless Shootout
Sanity check: has anybody done something like this, or thinking along similar lines? CB even sold his 5D2 and went for M43. Indeed, I made the change. I will leave others to comment about the sanity aspect! :D Currently have the Olympus Pen E-PL2 but that will probably be disposed of, when my next M4/3 camera arrives............. the Olympus OM-D EM-5. Would you get the Oly 12-50...

Best macro setup is.......
I have to say I do like the fact that most ebay shops actually put good product info on their sales! The kit you link to did interest me at one time, but the biggest problem that I can see is that the flash heads don't have any power settings. Not a single one as far as I can see. Which means you'll be firing them full power with a 5-8second recyling time (that is pretty darn slow). Conside...
