Good Buy Olympus E-PL5
Guess it depends on the venue, there not always in the best of places. I went to one at Rotherham a few years ago, it was right on a main road :)

Straycat Agree about the 35-mm macro and the early 17.5-45 kit lens. As a kit lens it was a very good performer but a tad too heavy and large for a small 4thirds body and its focul range was limited by comparison to the competition. The 14-42 ED that replaced it was a gem of a lens and had the latest high speed focus system, it was compact, light and had a better performance and build quali...

Olympus E-620
Quote:Whether you agree with it or not there was/is a perceived, and measurable, difference to the cameras the Olympuses were competing against in these two areas. And in fact on an Olympus forum I sometimes visit it seems to be accepted that care needs to be taken with the highlights and that the above ISO400 performance 'could be better'I wonder if that's the same site I would visit once in a ...

Olympus PEN E-P5 Announced
Worth every Penny, the OMD was an extra £150 at launch. A lot of people getting these will be upgrading from the EP3 and other Pens, many will probably already have an EVF. Olympus PEN E-P5 Ultimate Kit with 17mm f/1.8 lens and VF-4 £1349 / €1449 This should prove a good selling package.

Picture straightening
Spirit levels are very short which also makes the assessment of the bubble on centre somewhat difficult Mine is 3/4 of an inch and I do not have an issue with assessing the bubble's position. Adjusting the tripod head can be a bit tricky sometimes getting the bubble precisely central though, especially with the camera in portrait format ! always check afterwards. The only problem with ...

canon s95 or olympus pen e-pl1
I have been doing a lot of reading and watching videos about the Pen E-PL2. I always seem to do this after I've committed myself to purchase equipment. Am I deranged?....................... No, don't answer that!! :D Everything I have seen looks very favourable indeed. My interpretation of the reviews etc is that it is, probably, the best ILC camera out there at present if you look at ...

Nikon, Canon way better than Olympus ?
No you're right, it isn't as dark as that. ;) The problem is, I think, I am shooting with a lens with a max aperture of f/3.5 whereas your S95 has a max aperture of f/1.7 which is vastly better for video in dark conditions. But stick a fast lens on my Pen and I would expect a truer result.

Pentax K-7 vs....?
If you were in the market for a DSLR at the K-7 level and had no company bias or loyalty, which other models would you be looking at with the K-7? The D90, the equivalent Sony, the Canon 500D, 450D.

K7 Pentax
What no Phase 1 digital back Matt how could you.:D Compare on price, yes fair point. Talking about reviewers getting accused of bias, I read another site (where they bicker on every nuance of spec and review) their D3S review. They would appear to have complaints from Nikon, Canon etc users each complaining about a bias for/against Nikon in the review. The bit that impressed me the mo...
