Olympus E-620
Quote:Whether you agree with it or not there was/is a perceived, and measurable, difference to the cameras the Olympuses were competing against in these two areas. And in fact on an Olympus forum I sometimes visit it seems to be accepted that care needs to be taken with the highlights and that the above ISO400 performance 'could be better'I wonder if that's the same site I would visit once in a ...

Adapter for Olympus e-620
I would go with John, sell the lens. I`ve got a feeling that Canon lenses even with an adaptor will not be suitable anyway, I`ve never come across a 4/3 adapter to fit a canon lens. Plenty of other adapters here

Oly E-620 and wireless flash.
You'll have to buy a Oly flash gun that supports wireless flash if you want to use the camera body to control it. Otherwise you will have to go with ebay flash trigger and go manual control. There is no other way as far as I know.

Go into a shop and see what feels comfortable in your hands. Then completely disregard this oft-trotted out piece of 'advice' because it isn't the best way to decide on a camera. It'll feel differently after an hour, it'll feel different when actually shooting from different positions and switching from portrait to landscape and it'll feel different when attaching different lenses. So don't ...

Olympus E-600 - what has happened?
I got one recently. E600, 14-45, 50-150 and Battery grip all for £409 two months ago and stocks were bare then. Adam

I think the general rule of thumb is that you can hand hold provided the shutter speed is equal or less than 1/(35mm equiv lens focal length). So for a 300mm lens on a 1.5 crop camera would be OK at 1/450 sec or faster. IS gains you between 2 and 4 stops (depending on who you believe) so, if it's 4 stops, you can hand hold a 300mm at about 1/100 sec. So IS allows you to use, say, ISO800 rather ...

Fluke If its any consolation, my local camera shop told me only the other day that Oly cameras and lenses are starting to be 'collectable' and second hand 620'S, E-3's, 510's for example don't stay in the shop window for more than a week before they are snapped up by Olympus users for top money. Like you, I hope Olympus survive and go on to greater things. Olympus is an iconic marque that...

Need advice on camera choices
I would also like to add Rebbeca that as you want to photograph wildlife the Olympus can use the Olympus Zuiko 70-300 which in converted terms is a massive 140-600 and costs mere £300. Pentax, Nikon and Canon (OK I'll include Sony) users can only dream of such focal lengths at that price!

Olympus E 420 does size matter
Hi, You need to go and handle a selection of cameras before you part with your money. I have an Olympus OM2n and a Nikon FE2 and I find both cameras feel great for my hands. I recently went Digital and bought a Samsung GX20 that was on offer with 2 lenses. Before deciding on the Samsung I picked up a Nikon 3000, Canon and even a Sony of around the £400 - £500 price range and they did not fee...

What new Olympus did you get?
Quote: PEN e-p2 Took it out this morning for the first time & got some shots in the local supermarket! I've been playing around with a Ricoh compact more seriously last few days and it's made me want an Olympus Pen or Panasonic version. Looking forward to seeing how you get on with it. I went shopping for a cardreader this morning and ended up fondling one of these... another one who wi...

Pixel count
I always understood the 'problem' with the 5DII and similar was that the sensor was capable of resolving so much detail it showed up the flaws in older/cheaper lenses? I switched last year to full frame and my plan was to buy decent, fast, third party lenses. The reviews of the standard zoom equivalents all reported deficiencies. It isn't that I wouldn't be able to use them, or that quality ...
