Why I have to leave Olympus
USE FILM again !! My boy was GIVEN an Olympus OM2n with 50mm f1.8 and 70-150mm Zuiko lenses and gets very good results -- no 'SOFTWARE' problems at all -- I develop his B&W and most of his C41 or take it to a High Street Pharmacy which has an account with SIGFOTO laboratory who do an excellent job of processing and printing C41.

Thanks again guys i did a shop stop today with a family member and a friend who is into photograpghy. Looked again at the 60D and concideringthe 18 to 200 so i get everything i need to photo any place. I do have to try these 2 together as the lense is big but once i have a lense that covers a wide range of photo choice options, i can concentrate on others lenses later with out being restricted...

Because I own a 7D I have a Sigma 17-70mm for people/portrait shots with the odd landscape thrown in. Canon 70-200mm f4 for candid people and some far off landscapes, 400mm f5.6 for Birding/nature, Sigma 150 Macro. All of these covers my kind of photography. If I was doing more landscapes I would buy the 10-20mm to go with what I got. Don't need any more. My 17-70 makes the 50mm redundant.

An Entry Level Camera ..
I'd suggest that almost any current entry level DSLR from Nikon, Canon, Sony, Olympus, Pentax will be an excellent camera capable of producing superb images and should suit you well to start with. As has been mentioned the best advice is go along to a photographic retailer and try them out to see which you like the feel of then go with what suits your tastes and pocket. I'm in agreement wit...

Where are you based, and whats in your bag?
I live in Mid Devon and the bag I used depends on what I'm shooting, but where possible I prefer to travel light. Today its a Toploader with 1d4, 70-200 and 580ex & stofen, spare batteries, cards and lens cloth, with a 24-70 in an attached lens case. With a second bag vertex 300 with backup kit & laptop nearby.

Oh doom and gloom!!
So I guess I`ll have to carry on with my Fuji s5700 until dslr`s come down a bit on ebay. But they have. You will get a very respectable dSLR for under £100 on Ebay if you are patient (Look for Nikon D70s for example) Of course the latest models will always cost big bucks but, as time goes by, the quality of those under £100 will increase (but always lag behind the latest versions)....

Is it time for a digital TLR?
I know exactly what you mean about TLR cameras and film photography in general. It was more FUN than digital even though it was more work. Film photography and the cameras native to it, especially TLR's just had a "feel" about it that is absent from digital photography. I scan photographic news and articles on a regular basis searching and hoping that some camera manufacturer has finally produc...
