KM Brand is dead?
Very interesting article, particularly with reference to 'High Profit Margins'. Inevitable, I think, that companies with camera and lens design/ manufacturing technology will get into bed with companies with electronic/ manufacturing technology. This QA guy went Canon EOS300D a year ago! Good choice! jas

What is wrong with Pentax?
The K10d is indeed fabulous, I love mine. I bought it after much deliberation about 15 months ago, and I haven't been disappointed. That said I've not invested in any lenses as my dad has plenty of (old) K-mount glass I can borrow, and now I find myself wondering if this wouldn't be a good time to jump ship, with no lens investment to protect. I look at Nikon and see a huge array of Ni...

Am I Crazy?
Thank you for your comments & suggestions. I had already looked at the reviews on this site & lens reviews else where. Thanks Snapper for the link, it answered my question about mirror lock up. I have been misinformed by Jessops ( who no longer list Pentax SLRs) & failed to find the information on the web. Andy, my confession is that I have had issues with Pentax lenses in the past & never u...

Pentax cameras, no good?
Hello Pentax/Samsung owners & fans! I'm relative a new member here at this Pentax forum, as still with me a KM Dynax 7D body now fitted for "Ever" with a travel zoom Tamron 18-250mm lens. Last passed half month I decided to "Auto-Gift" me with a new DSLR...so I selected a Pentax K10D/Kit, with the same reason that the "Anti-Skate/Shock" feature is INSIDE the body similarly to my lovely KM...

Nikon D200 or Pentax K10 which to go for?
Q. about D200 and external flash wireless. I heard that D200 has built in wireless trigger so with the SB800, you can for example put it on the table and fire the flash without any extra triggering device? The Pentax K10D has that too with the AF360-FGZ and AF540-FGZ. Blindingly useful :D Matt

KM, Nikon or Canon...
where as a big old scratch on the sensor from attempting to remove dust is pretty noticible hmm...I cleaned my D70 'sensor' ( you never touch the actual CCD, you know. It's the glass bit in front that you clean ) many, many times and have never had any problems or side effects. Unless you are trying to scrape dust off with a pen knife or something I can't see how you could damage the glass (...

Two Pentax DSLR's announced
I am still using film Pentax MZS and a beautiful LX and will continue to do so but with the K100D or if I can tell the wife a lie about the price, enter the K10D, joking about the last but I would not say no to one. At the moment I scan my prints or transparencies (which I prefer but do not come out as good as a flatbed print (Canon 5000F) and use Paint shop Pro 7 or Arcsoft Studio 5 to remove...

KM 5D price
Sorry, when talking about the Pentax i mentioned the *ist DS. I was actually relating the comments to the *ist DL. This is a brand new camera and not a little out of date. Therefor it should be as competitive if not more than the likes of Canon and Nikon rivals. Shed

KM Dynax 7D images on Alamy
I have the 7D, but not submitted anything to Alamy. As others have said though, the quality would be relative to the Canon, Nikon and the like given good optics. The main factor is the interpolation to meet the required 45meg? If camera brand/model was an issue with Alamy, then I'm sure they would state preffered models for required quality. Images from other 7D users, such as Pask, and ...

PENTAX K100d or CANON 400d
I could be spreading a false story but it was that Sony had improved on KM and could be I reading 3.5 as 5.5 .. Sorry. Canon and Nikon have been around longer and have bigger advertising budgets :-) I don't dismiss them, simply wouldn't buy one becuase I have used OIS these past two years in pro-sumers and rate it a most desirable feature in a camera. If I am going to spend on a DSLR I want ...
