My post perhaps did not answer your question fully as the video shows how to make a grey background white at the time of shooting. Here is a good tutorial that will show how to make a good selection of the background so it can easily be changed or replaced. It is quite long at 34 mins. Another one. Hopefully one of these will be helpful to you :).

Karl Taylor is good and worth watching,so is Howie subscribed to those 2 ages ago as well as 10 others, you tube is spot on for me as I find no time for reading but find time to be entertained and stimulated by some videos produced on you tube. I have learnt so much from you tube and this site i would go as far as to say i have learnt 80% of my photography from this site, you tube and readi...

I would use a window for the light. Have your wife stand with her back to the window and place your reflector in front of her. The natural light will give a nice rim light to the subject and the reflector will give the face/body light so as not to be a silhouette. Here is a video I found helpful. http://www.ephotozine.com/photography-videos/video/window-light-portrait-tutorial-2290

the night sky
Hi again, bit of a stupid question but Ive downloaded registacks and cant seem to work it out. I was under the impression that you would add a lot of photos and the programme would align them and then stack them? But I seem to be able to only add one photo, there is then a window to my left where i have sliders to move up numbered 1 to 6 ? when i move them the photo is enhanced cant seem to fin...

EOS 60D or EOS 7D
Thanks for this thread. It prompted me to try something out on the 60D (quick AF) that I haven't used yet and found I couldn't make it work. By then looking on YouTube I found a really excellent tutorial. The instruction booklets often leave out a small but vital piece of information.

Process versus Technique
To get the pics to the level/look they need, it's a proper skill from what I can gather - stuff the agent was chatting about was mind boggling really, it'd probably not be cost effective to get me to do it as it'd take forever ;-) Don't get me wrong, I edit all the portrait/landscape/wedding stuff I do - but big projects... you're just a small cog in a wheel really. ww I'd rather be chat...

'Long Exposure's' advice for a novice.
Well I took all the advice given onboard during my holiday and produced some pleasing results in my view. We were really lucky with the weather and had some decent evenings with nice sunsets. I'm still learning all this and feel I can do better but really enjoyed experimenting. Mumbles and Gower is a beautiful area and it was my first time there. Langland Bay was where we stayed for the first h...

Help me decide! 7D, 1Dii or iii, 5D
Have to agree there , I have 5d2s and have had 5d1 and used and edited shots from the 7D , the 5d1 and 2 produces higher quality and lower noise shots than the 7d and if this is the most important thing to you then there is no debate. Dont think the 1d3 or 1d2n would compete either , 1ds3 or 1ds4 more like ..
