RANT: Links
I did a quick link tutorial, then Doug did his video, but in thread after thread you see people post a www address with an apology "Sorry I can't do links". Pop up blockers on not, it's pretty easy to type them in manually. I think vBulletin parses typed in links to real links but also truncates them. Take that a step further and if anybody types or pastes something beginning with http://...

So they come to a forum and ask for advice - sounds reasonable to me... But then get driven away by people who have a lot to say but nothing to contribute. Sad. So you have been 'lumbered' with the job 'cos the other person left. Rethink the brief and represent it to your management... and take a chill-pill friend. Enough said.

Texturizing Photos
We could upload textures to the download area. That would be a good thing to share backgrounds, providing no one is precious about their images? I'll start by add one I've used on several of my recent photos. Flaky PaintIf you want to add them select "wallpaper" as the category for now and if we get a few we will create a specific Textures category. Wow, what a mice treasure trove of informati...

Raw for thick people
Yes after reading a few times I understand and thats what I want...get the basics like WB and Exposure sorted on a screen then over to P/S to do my normal clumsy messing about. Guy Gowan would tell you that this is exactly how he does it (ok with Aperture or ACR instead of Lightroom and perhaps not the clumsy messing about!) Having said that, Lightroom does have a lot going for it too. O...
