Which Photography Magazine?
I'd concur with the recommendations for Ag, Lenswork and BJP. There are others too like Hotshoe, foto8 and Portfolio - whose current edition . I also enjoy LIP magazine which I get as a member of London Independent Photography. I used to be able to buy a lot of different mags when I was in London, which I wouldn't want to buy regularly but were available in places like The Photographers Gall...

Photography Club comps
Then I would suggest you all draft your issues in a clear and concise way and email them to the commitee members, as I have just done with the camera club I was attending, have now left for a club more friendly and hands on the cameras and members evenings that can be about anything you want, photographically. I have had a response from them saying that they will discuss my issues at the ne...

Beginner looking for a decent tutorial
Geoff. Just simply learn the exposure triangle of ISO, aperture and shutter speed. The best way to do this is buy Understanding Exposure book from Amazon by Bryan Peterson. I have and love that book, it really helped me when I first started. Other bookshops sell it too, including bookshops like Waterstones which actually pay their tax ;) . The EPZ tutorials are great, but personally I l...

Photoshop
I have free Photoshop videos on my website and try to do it in an idiot proof fashion (which comes naturally!). I'm a copywriter by day so I'm used to putting complicated jargon into easy to digest language. I also have photo technique and photography marketing tips too. Hope it helps.

Texturizing Photos
We could upload textures to the download area. That would be a good thing to share backgrounds, providing no one is precious about their images? I'll start by add one I've used on several of my recent photos. Flaky PaintIf you want to add them select "wallpaper" as the category for now and if we get a few we will create a specific Textures category. Wow, what a mice treasure trove of informati...
