Book Reviews
The book takes a detailed and very close look at Adobe Photoshop Elements 7. The 446 pages are split into fifteen chapters all of which are written in great detail and are well illustrated. The layout is a little cramped but with the quantity of information you are given it's something you can easily cope with. The book isn't linear and you can easily flick to a chapter you wish to study and work at your own pace. The book is a great reference tool and will fit perfectly on the prof...
This guide is perfect for the beginner and is a great way for you to get started with Photoshop Elements. The chapters are well detailed and will take you through an introduction to Elements all the way through to more complicated and adventurous editing. Lessons are easy to follow and are split up by nice large headings which make the text easy to read. The Images used are not just decorative they also help demonstrate the techniques discussed in the book. The book also comes wi...

My boy was GIVEN an Olympus OM2n with 50mm f1.8 and 70-150mm Zuiko lenses and gets very good results -- no 'SOFTWARE' problems at all -- I develop his B&W and most of his C41 or take it to a High Street Pharmacy which has an account with SIGFOTO laboratory who do an excellent job of processing and printing C41.

Better Cameras DO Take Better Photographs
So far as I recall, Cartier-Bresson trained as a painter, and then tried photography. Using the usual and somewhat clumsy cameras of the time, his work was not particularly good. Then the Leica range became available, and was just what he needed for the instant drawing he wanted to do. At the time it would have been the latest thing in technology, very expensive, with new models, lenses, and a...

No idea - I didn't get a normal one to compare against ;-) From the photographs I have seen comparing them it does offer slightly greater sharpness and detail. Given you can't recover such things once lost by an AA filter, and given that many people would pay the same amount extra between the D800/D800E on a lens for as much better or less, I kind of think it is worth it. The other way o...

I just did a shoot at a gig with no flash and it was dark. Used ISO of between 1600 and 6400 on the D700 and a mixture of my Nikon 17-35mm and the Nikon 50mm 1.4 - the 50mm produced the best results in the end. I wouldn't say the ISO images would be good for large prints but for the web and full page magazine printing they are good enough. Images here - www.focusedonhobbs.co.uk
