Budget printer for on the go printing?
Just an off the cuff idea - may or may not be practical or even techncially feasible (others will know more about this). How about using an Eye-Fi card so you can offer immediate upload to the subject's mobile phone, so they can stick it on Facebook or whatever, at a small charge which will be "deducted" from the (larger) cost of a print to be supplied at a later date? You would need, I as...

Rating subject difficulty
I think that a brilliant and difficult shot will ultimately stand out for its uniqueness. If it doesn't, then you have to accept that there is some artistic merit missing from it. I struggle with this in my own dragonfly imagery. There's no shortage of technically perfect shots out there that lack creativity or imagination. I'd hate to see us adopt an "x factor" mentality, where every sob st...

Any knowledgable gardeners on here ?
Hi mumcat thanks for the suggestions. Hollyhocks and Delphiniums are an excellent idea. Lovely vibrant colours and plenty of height to add some nice contrast. We have made quite a good start on the border lately having finally removed a huge rose root and a rampant runner which had even attacked the stonework ! After a 2x week delay we took delivery of a very miserable specimen of Chosy...

Camera backpacks
Got me thinking again with this thread. I've been looking at the Kata ultralight range recently, as i'm running out of patience with my current bag, which is very awkward as well as heavy, and a bit too small. I think the katas are very nice bags but maybe lacking in the facilities of recent Lowepros. The F-Stops have always looked very interesting but i won't buy a bag unseen. After searhing ...

I am not a happy bunny!
Hi there cod guy, My respects for you serving your country, I believe the reference to your work ect was made in the belief you was the David Elder that has been found to be a thief of others work and feelings running high about this as many on here value the hard work and time they put into it as I'm sure you do. I've re-read through the thread and that's how it comes over to me,I'm sure no ...

My view on it is this: A limited camera will restrict the type of shots you can do well. If you stay within those limitations, you can produce pictures as good as any more expensive camera. A more fancy camera with a better lens will open up a wider range of shots that you can do well, and more easily. I speak from experience here - I used to use an all manual Practika MTL, and my earliest p...

Why I Don't Need a New Camera
Well. That was a really interesting thread to have launched. So many diverse and interesting points of view. Food for thought all round. Surely, if anything, that is what the Forum is all about. Thanks to all who contributed.

Is the Race for Megapixels Ending?
Len. I provided an explanation for someone else, and you dismissed it as nit picking. That was arrogant, although consistent with other rude comments that you directed at other people in this thread. Regarding your last post, it is clear that you do not know what you are talking about. I have already provided a correct explanation in an earlier post, and I see no reason to repeat myself. I am s...
